A Bit About Me
How I arrived at coaching is a long and winding road.
In 2019, I began work on a personal development plan (PDP). As part of the plan, I asked a handful of close friends and family questions about myself. To help me arrive at a clearer sense of who I was, from the outside looking in. Here’s one question I asked and my mom’s response:
If I told you tomorrow I was starting a new career, which career would not be a surprise?
Since you like to improve things and studied law, I wouldn’t be surprised if you became a politician. And, since you enjoy helping people, I wouldn’t be surprised if you became a monk.
True words seem paradoxical. - Lao Tzu
My attempt to “improve things” and “help people” has had many professional forms. From a psychology undergrad to attorney, followed by entrepreneur and advisor, then organizational consultant and writer. At the same time, I have experienced drastic swings of the pendulum in my personal life - being poor while rich (and vice versa), illness and incapacitation, love and loss, and what feels like an endless search for home.
These profound experiences, creating my PDP and reflecting on the responses received, and my work with The Grand guiding others through their transitions, illuminated my path. I began to understand how my seemingly disconnected path led me here. And, see more clearly what I was designed to do.
Turns out, mom was right: My purpose is to serve others, by helping them become who they are meant to be.
I love doing this work, and welcome the chance to help you discover and become who you are meant to be.
